What big movies are coming out in 2020?

A portion of the upcoming releases on the schedule are highly anticipated sequels, but that isn't all we're hoping to see: the studios have also set up new adaptations of existing properties and all way of would be blockbusters, making for what should be an epic year at the motion pictures.

Avengers: Endgame that has all the superhero action we could hope for. Not only that, the film even went one step further by breaking the world record for the highest grossing film of all time, leaving behind James Cameron’s Avatar.

Black Widow

Despite the outcome of Endgame fans will finally get to see a Black Widow solo film! Directed by Cate Shortland, the MCU movies traces the origin of Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow. Featuring Scarlett Johansson in the lead role, the Black Widow release date is slated for April 2020. It is unclear how this film ties into the future of MCU but you can expect a thrilling action/spy film. Though there have been some revelations about the Black Widow cast.

The DCEU has had a rough time getting the formula right for its superhero universe. However, amongst the underwhelming Batman v Superman, Suicided Squad and Justice League, DCEU did a fantastic job in bringing Wonder Woman to the big screen. With Gal Gadot as the titular superhero, Wonder Woman was an instant box office success.

Fans can rejoice as the much-anticipated Wonder Woman sequel release date is set for June 2020. Titled Wonder Woman 1984, the film has a very ‘groovy’ 80s aesthetics and some jaw-dropping action sequences. We even see the Wonder Woman 1984 cast Chris Pine as the admirable Steve Trevor we missed.

Mulan

Keeping up with the trend of female-driven heroes, Disney fans can get hyped as the beloved princess Mulan gets a live-action remake! Directed by the Niki Caro and Mulan cast Liu Yifei in the titular role The stelllar cast includes Donnie Yen, Jet Li, and Liu Yifei, the film looks very promising. The story will be different from the original animated film but will have stunning cinematography and an empowering message.

Directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga, No Time to Die release date is due for April. It follows the British secret agent fighting a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.

It has been over 30 years, but Hollywood finally listened and we are getting the sequel!
